Yesterday I had my session with my therapist. I love my therapist, she is wonderful and I have been seeing her for 2+ years. However, at the end of our session she announced to me that she is pregnant.
I fell apart right in front of her, while tears were coming down I told her congratulations and I am happy for her. I told her to please not take offense to my reaction. She of course didn't at all. She was extremely nervous to tell me.
This has brought up so many emotions, and I feel like I have gone back to the very beginning of it all. How can I go sit in front of her and talk, cry and be angry all that comes with it when she is in front of me pregnant? I am not angry at her at all, I am angry with the situation. I need help, do I toughen up and stay with her and chance it or do I start seeking a new therapist? I'm so torn and I feel like I'm losing it...HELP.

Ultimately it's up to you. Can YOU heal and cope with what you've been through seeing her pregnant without any major setbacks? It's all up to you and what you, personally, are capable of handling at the moment. There is no reason to feel bad at all! Whatever you decide has to be in YOUR best interest. So don't worry about her feelings, I'm sure if you leave she will miss you seeing as you've been with her for 2+ years, but professionally she should be able to understand that, in this situation what is best for you, and more healing, is the course you must take. The decision is all yours.
