Following is the song lyrics to "Little One" By Rebecca St. James. The song is a pro-life song about a woman talking to her unborn daughter after once considered having an abortion. There is a line in the song "I can't believe that I would ever think that you were not meant to be"
On the Youtube video, a woman commented saying: "I love this song, I'm now having my first baby and am putting together a playlist for her, I was gonna use this, but it says I can't believe that I could ever think that you were no to be.. I feel like that ruined the song for me, cause I can't use it.. my daughter was always planned, so for me to have this on my playlist it's like saying I at some point didn't want her and that's not true and not something I'd want her to think just cause of a song."
Now for me, after having three losses that line reminds me of feeling like I would never have any children... Not that I didn't want her. I'm currently 4 weeks, 3 days pregnant and if this little bean sticks around and is a girl, I plan on playing this song for her. It is a beautiful song. I was just curious as to how you ladies view that one line in the song, and what it would mean to you. Do you agree with the woman who commented? Or do you see it a different way? All view welcome :)

Little One
Hush my baby be still inside me
Rest my child all is well
Hush my baby grow inside me
You are safe there my little girl
I cant believe that I would ever think
That you were not to be
But darling mommy feels like a child herself
I will give my life to love you little one
I will give my life to protect you darling
Always, always
Hush my baby Im dreaming of you
Wondering just who youll become
Hush my baby, smile inside me
Warmed by knowing you are loved
I cant believe that I could ever think
Of life without you
But darling mommy sometimes feels afraid
I will give my life to love you little one
I will give my life to protect you darling
Always, always
I will give my life to love you little one
I will give my life to protect you darling
Always, always
Hush my baby, smile inside me
Warmed by knowing you are loved

I think it can be perceived both ways. I know it was meant as a woman who "chose" to keep her child, but for me hearing that I think through my pregnancies because of my MCs and my high risk pregnancies I would give in to fear at times and think they wouldn;t make it. Not by my choice. I tihnk if someone includes that song in a playlist, jsut explain to your child when they are older that because of your losses you feared she wouldn;t make it.At least that is how I understand it. I like that her lyrics left it open on that way where it can bee seen either way.Hope this mskes sense. :)

I really like this, it actually reminds me of when I was pregnant with my son, my husband and I had been married a month when I got pregnant and we were both recent college grads and had just started with new companies. I was terrified the whole pregnancy. I had so many worries and many times I cried out to God and said, we've done everything right, we waited till we got married, we graduated college, we honored our parents wishes of waiting, we dated for 6 years and now our plans are ruined. I know now that I was terribly wrong and at times feel punished by God (bc when we planned our next child it ended in mc and now we are having trouble conceiving) I look at my son and think, how could I have questioned God out of my fear on how perfect he is. I'm going to save the lyrics and give to my son and hopefully one day another child.
