I think it is about time the non - Anglo - Saxon world got off off their assess and contributed troops actually prepared to fight or we should abolish NATO and let the slackers in Europe fend for themselves.

When the British Deployment in Iraq coming to an end it may be possible for the UK to contribute some more troops! But our generals are not confident because of Over Stretch and equipment issues. Our politicians have let th forces down badly over the years since the cold war and they are ill equipped to conduct operations on the scale required of them. It does not help when over 50% of the entire army is deployed in combat/operational zones around the world. They have even delayed the new carriers. And the cost of some of the military hardware is ludicrous £70m for a helicopter - rip off! And the wrangling that goes on between US suppliers and the UK is daft - e.g. special forces Chinook that cannot fly because the software was not supplied because it was not in the contract. People are dying and all the lawyers and politicians can do is argue about the where and whyfores of technology transfer - were supposed to be allies. Bah Humbug they should all be had up for treason and shot!
