Military Families Support Group
Today's military family faces a lifestyle that is comprised of frequent deployments, which results in increased family separations. This often proves to be a stressful challenge for military families. This community is dedicated to the families that are dealing with the unique challenges of distance and military-related stress.

My congratulations to your bf's military service!
Yes, this is a very scary time for you. I can imagine so. Have you any hobbies? What about community service programs? Are you joined up with any organizations? What about family and close friends? Anyone making a commitment to look after you while he's away? And then you may think of volunteering at a local nursing home or hospital. The choices are many. On a personal level, if you prefer not to be around large groups of people, then taking a chance to develop new talents and skills is a good distraction. However, by all means, do pull-out those relaxation techniques. You need to stay calm. There is always new movie attractions, fun vacation trips, social clubs or just stay at home with family and friends finding new conversations. Find new friends to hangout with, supportive friends with same values and lifestyles as your own. Online social groups are always active too.
Of course, you will be able to write your bff letters; possibly you may make a personal video or other detailed recordings while he is away, and do keep a private journal of your thoughts and feelings every day as you find the time write or record them. Another idea is for you to start those happy wedding planning; download ideas and store them to a file. Whatever you decide to do to keep busy, please update so that this group will know of your progress. <3
God bless you, Katie!
