Military Families Support Group
Today's military family faces a lifestyle that is comprised of frequent deployments, which results in increased family separations. This often proves to be a stressful challenge for military families. This community is dedicated to the families that are dealing with the unique challenges of distance and military-related stress.
The most important thing that I remember while my boyfriend is away is that however long he is deployed for may feel like forever but that time is nothing in the span of forever. Use his time away to help make your relationship stronger! Keep your head up and keep your heart strong! I know it hurts right now but this pain isn't forever! Your heart will heal soon enough and maybe sometime soon or in the near future you will be blessed with a beautiful baby!
Maybe keep a journal for him and write to him everyday & then when he comes home from deployment give it to him to read through how much you missed him and thought about him while he was away!
Thank you for reaching out to this site in a time that has been so difficult. To be physically far from your partner during a loss could be such an isolating, heart wrenching experience, so I truly honor you reaching out to a site like this in a time of need.
For one, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that any feelings of guilt or shame are far from you, as those can sometimes come around during times such as this. Be assured that the roller coaster of emotions that you may be feeling are normal, understandable, and completely okay to be feeling!
I also hope that you and your partner are able to lean into one another to both process and grieve together once he returns home. It will be difficult, but try to be patient with one another's grief process, as they may look very different.
Continue to reach out to those you love during days/times that feel more difficult than others. It can often feel like weakness to reach out for support, when in fact only those of us who are strong can find enough humility to reach out when we need to.
Much peace is being sent your way,
Emily
