It doesn't help me it just can make you sleepy.I have had every test possible and there is no cure for me but your magic migraine med could be out there never give up I have come close to giving up but my kids and husband give me so much. Tegretol has helped many people try it.

Sometimes with my really bad ones, when I take one of my 2mg klonopin, it will settle me down to wear I can relax and at least get some sleep, so I would say that yes, it could help you. Is there alot of stress going on right now?

a really good neuro once told me that anxeity and migrianes start off from the same molicue. So she percribed me ativan (xanax's little brother) as an add of to take for migrain pain. she said that 75% of people with migraines have anxiety, depression and insomnia and this makes pain worse. so taking an ativan would help curb the migrain pain when taken with other migrain meds. I think it would defiatly help when taken on the onset of a migraine.

Unfortunately no, it's for anxiety and if dose is too high will knock you out like a rock! LOL
10 days! WOW! 5 days has been my longest, but had to finally say enough and go ask my doctor to give me a shot.

5 days was your longest for a migraine, lucky you, I have had one for weeks, with minor breaks in between, and that is no exaggeration. But, I would assume the xanax is not working, it would if it was stress induced, get back to your doc and get something for this migraine..shot...etc., and then get on a preventative like I had to..topomax, and have something on hand for the breakthroughs!Good luck, how is it going anyway?

I used to have weeks long migraines. My Neuro told me to start taking B2/Riboflavin and amazingly it has worked. I have gone from having a pretty much constant headache to having about 1 or 2 a month. It is like a miracle! Life is soo much better without pain!!

Yes 5 days is the longest for a severe one i have had, that put's me in the bed, I don't let them go longer than 5 day before I go to the dr. I can't do it.
I do also have those mild to medium headaches almost daily. I am trying to get those under control also.

Will xanax help if it is an ocular migraine? When I get stressed or my hormones are out of whack I get ocular migraines, followed by a headache. This is really depressing to me because I teach high school and I get very panicky when I get one during class and if someone is available I try to get coverage for my class so I can go into a dark room for awhile.
