Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I finally saw a neurolgoist that specialized in migraines, he did a sleep study and that was okay, and he started me with Occiptal Neural Blocks (ONB) and they did help somewhat for a few years until I became allergic to the lidocaine. Now I have been on Botox for migaines for less than a year and that has worked even better than the ONBs.
I am on SSD for damages to my back and other medical ailments including the severe migraines. But I don't know how long the Botox for Migraines will work for me. So it's scary in a way.
It's hard for those without migraines to understand how painful they are. With not working, I don't have the money to seek other special treatments if the Botox fails. And you're right, some doctors don't get it.
