Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I love when we come into Fall, I adore the winter, and hate the rest of the year. I'm already counting down to October!
Good luck. I know I'm going to need it for the next 6 months.
I used to take liquid advil for my headaches and it would help somewhat. But advil is very bad for kidney function so I can no longer use it.
I've used ice on the back of my neck & sinus areas. Heat & massage on sinus areas. Peppermint oil as well as other combination oils. I've used a small massaging device on my temples, sinus areas & back of neck. Nothing really gives me any meaningful relief. It's very frustrating.
Does anyone else have any suggestions that I could try? I ask my kidney specialist if there are any safe medications for migraine and he basically shrugged at me. I'm finding it pretty tough to function on even a basic level. Any advice appreciated. Thank you
Are the sumatriptans out because of the kidney failure? Have you tried those?
Have you seen a neurologist who specializes in headaches? Perhaps the two doctors, the kidney and neurologist could come up with a plan for your headaches. Perhaps Botox would help.
Good luck. I'm sorry your feeling so bad.
