Did it change January 1st? Did you get new insurance cards in the mail? Is your insurance through an employer, or the state?

I remember when my disability claim was going through, and I didn't think I would be approved, I talked to my headache specialist about my concern about not seeing him anymore. He told me that was not an option for me, and that he would still see me, but it would be on a much more limited basis. And of course I would have to pay out of pocket, but the charge was still in my price range.

I would call your clinic, and ask to talk to the doctor. I would explain the situation you are in, and see if there is something they can do. It would obviously be without your insurance, but even if you can just get in a few times, it's better than you not going at all.

United Healthcare changed my prescription coverage. They gave me a list of drugs that they weren't going to cover that I was on. I was coming off them, so it was o.k. Now I'm having to get letters from my doctors in order to keep getting my regular prescriptions, I'm finding this out as I try to refill each one. I feel they misrepresented what they were giving me for this coming year. This is my Medicare prescription policy. I'm very angry and upset with United Healthcare.

They say they notified me in August. But I don't read my mail since it's hard for me to be in a room with enough light to read. What's devious is that they're calling it the same plan even though they've changed it completely. Going thru the same thing with prescriptions and I'll even have trouble getting the letter from the doctor since they won't cover me going to see a neurologist. Rx's either cost more or are not covered now. They suggest I take a 1950's med for epilepsy instead of the one that works for me.

One thing I wonder - do they have a new plan that is like my old one that they invited all the people who never had a claim to join.

Have united health care military so understand complications with it. Go on there website and search for the specialist you need & make sure they are taking new patients. Write down the name, number, & address then either email your pcm or make an appointment & tell them you want a referral to see new doc. Hopefully someone in your migraine clinic will be on the list, it sometimes happens. If pcm doesn't want to give you a referral then talk with supervisor until you get it put in. Unfortunately you may have to put your foot down & demand but sometimes it's the only way. Best of luck.
