Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

I was reading up on this and there are places that sell the glasses but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has actually had any experience before I blow some hard earned $$ on something that might not work.

I have read that not all tints are the same and there are two sites that sell glasses just for migrainers

Axon and TheraSpecs. Both I think are expensive for what they are but I'm hesitant to go to an optical place and get the wrong tint.

Anyways, anyone try this?

HAVE NOT TRIED IT BUT I DO WEAR TINTED GLASSES, THEY DO HELP,THE DARKER THE BETTER, IF YOU GET SOME AND THEY HELP LET ME KNOW I AM STRUGGLING WITH A MIGRAINE RIGHT NOW GOING ON 3RD DAY, GOOD LUCK, SHIRLEY

i have tried tinted glases befor and found that they were good when i had a migrain but they didnt clear up good enough and they would cause me a nother migrain because of that .........so now i have sunglasses that cover right up to my face so on top and on the sides and i find that is much better than just tinted glasses

i use a browen tint but they are a little on the rossey side

Do you find that they work when you are inside or on the computer, Muskrat? Have you had noticable success with them?

I use tinted sunglasses, blue seems to work better for me, but they do help sometimes. Personally I would not spend extra from this site and just try regular tinted ones. Maybe thrift store ones! That way you could try different colors and see which one, if any help. Good luck

Long, long ago, when I was in high school and before I ever started with migraines, I was working under flourescent lights and I would get headaches. I just decided to go with rose tinted glasses and it helped so much. There were no studies back then. I only know it worked.

I also have my car windows tinted dark and it works wonders on my migraines. I learned that because I borrowed a car from a relative to get to work one day years ago and the windows were tinted and it helped the migraine I had. So I then tinted my windows. what a huge difference and my State allows window tinting.

i have used them mostly when i have amigrain or when my eyes are sencitive to the light that is usualy befor i get a migrain and the tinted glasses realy make a diferance .............on the computer and in buildings with florsintint lighting and out side in all light real .............my glasses have sides on them on the top and on the sides so there is even more protection from the light ...............i wouldent go with out them .............i think the tint depends on you tough you have to try some diferant tints and see if they bother you some tints i can use ..............the tint i have is a light browen but with a little on the rose hue .................everything is still looking bright i can see everything clearly ................i hope you find what you need

I started wearing rose tinted glasses several months back. It was actually for other reasons then migraines, but it seemed like i was getting less attacks and lessened intensity when I wore the tinted lenses.
I went to a place online and was able to order prescription glasses with a tint for about 25$. It's worth looking into.. now if I could just stop misplacing them.

I have not tried this, maybe I should look into getting a pair.
