I always dismissed the suggestion that some of my headaches were rebound headaches.....but I've been reading an article that says drugs like Excedrine with caffeine are most likely to cause rebound. I've been gradually reducing the amount I take, hoping to see some improvement.

Yes I get rebound from even tylenol.they say not to take them more then 3 times a week,hope this finds you better, seems like your on the right track ,these headaches can bring you down. many hugs .Squarley

Hi Danin. I have my doubts about rebound. It seems like a quick fix for the doctors to blame it on the patient when infact the drug you are using has actually lost it's efectivity. Think about it, really, how much caffeine is in an excedrine? People drink more of that in one cup, let alone all the cups in one day.

I was buying into the rebound thing earlier this year and going without pain meds to break what I thought I had, and literally going through hell. I found out that it wasn't that at all, infact I had another disease (Graves, hyperthryoid) causing havoc and my current painkillers weren't working anymore because I"ve been on them so long.

Now I take what I need to get me through. But this has been my journey and we are each individuals. You have to listen to your own body and common sense things through. Hope you find your way out of the pain.
