Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
His family had no idea why he was "in that part of town" and he was unconscious for several days.
Now, he still has to deal with the eye pain and will have to wear a bag for a year until the stomach issues are resolved. He has to face his family, his church, his friends.
I sent my DIL a note saying I totally understand how that can happen. Pain is not fun and people will go to all lengths to get rid of it.
but i can see how the pain could be so intense that you just want to get rid of it. i've had those thoughts before. i've been in the ER and just wanted them to just keep giving me more and more to make it go away and they can't give me anymore because my blood pressure will drop too low.

I have been told that the type of migraines I have would not later go into strokes. You might want to speak to your daughter's neurologist about that.
