Out of Breath!

I was wondering is Topamax has ever made anyone feel out of shape. I have to walk around my outdoor campus and I find myself out of breath even keeping a very moderate pace. I had to grab my boyfriends arm and slow him down at the store the other day...
I'm not a small woman by any stretch, but before this past very bad week I did excersize moderately when I could and I've always enjoyed walking. The side effects did mention reducing sweating and causing overheating, but I'm sweating more than ever (I live in the sunshine state, still and oven in September) just breathless.

I never had that side effect from topamax. I never knew anyone who had that side effect. Doesn't mean it's not that way for you. The more common side effects from topamax are cognative, which many people seem to get.

I hope it resolves quickly for you.

Cognitive as in grasping for words, running them together occasionally, not feeling as quick on the uptake as usual? Yeah that's been happening too. From the research I've done though most side effects do resolve themselves so I'm trying to just laugh it off.

It took 7 years before I had any cognitive side effects, and once I got them, they didn't resolve. I don't know anyone who had resolution from their cognitive problems once they came on from the drug. I call topamax my stupid pill. I even stopped taking it for a long time because I couldn't even finish my sentences, but then had to start back on again because my headaches just became horrible again.

Just an FYI, topamax can cause numbness and tingling in your hands and fingers. If you find that this happens, it can be fixed by taking a prescription dose of potassium.
