Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
One thing that seems to trigger mine are halogen and fluorescent lighting or sun glare off shiny objects. Got to have sun glasses that reduce or elimate glare if I go out in the sun.
My husband sometimes parks the van in the drive where the evening sun glares off the windows right into my kitchen window. I have to remind him every once in awhile not to park there.
Dr says yes they do come in clusters and medicos dont know why. I have situations perhaps twice a year where I will get them every two or three days for a period of two to four weeks. Then might go a month with none. As I have got older some are followed by knock out headaches - the classical migraine which I had a few times over the course of life before this aura thing started (when of course at the very least I thought I must have a brain tumour!!)...
Agree with Rosetaz about lights and reflections triggering - I have to watch certain computer screens as well. But also foods and weather.
Suspect like most health issues no two people exactly alike in symptoms and presentation and what you experience is a pattern (with variations) which isnt uncommon.
