Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
My living conditions are not substandard, and the area I live in is nice and help is provided through HUD Section 8, and I exist off of SSDI.
Many years ago before I had the fall and became disabled, I was working full time and supporting my Mom and had bought my own place. I've had migraines sine 1990 and had so many tests done and they cannot find a reason for the migraines.
I used to eat more fruits and vegetables, and my diet was much better and I didn't take as much medication, but still got terrible migraines and was under care for those migraines.
A year back, I discovered a hypnosis audio recording. Simple instructions on a CD to be followed. Not only did my headache stop on that day, after I'd used it fa few more times, I learnt the technique. No more medication, no more side effects and lots of money saved. I still live in the same place and eat the same food - my standard hasn't changed.
I'm in Arizona and so many years ago they used to say "send your sinuses to Arizona." Now they don't say that because people that came here brought allergy-type plants and planted them and we have non-native plants and trees that are super allergy producers. Allergy can bring on migraines.
Years ago, I was near pneumonia from taking public transportation to and from work for just about 3 months. I turned out that on the way home, I was waiting for the bus at a "pollution hot spot" in the city and I had to wait about a half hour there at rush hour when the pollution was high.
When I finally was getting so bad and got into the doctor, he questioned me and we discussed everything and when he found out where I was getting the bus after work, then it all made sense. I even have problems if someone is near me smoking. I was out of work for a while because my lungs were so bad. So it also makes sense that areas were we wait to catch transportation also counts towards our migraines.
