Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

I see it and I feel powerless over them. If I don't take them I get a headache. If I do take them I'll probably get a headache. And they don't even work that well anymore.

Both prescription and OTC.

I was where you are at. I was going through Imitrex like candy and I lived on Excedrin. Very similar situation. Then my neuro took all Rx migraine drugs away. I though I was gonna die. I suffered major headaches for a couple of weeks and then... they were gone.

My doc explained it that I had used to many drugs too much and I was creating rebound headaches. Going cold turkey hurt like hell at the start, but now I seldom even take a Tylenol.

Good luck. I'm glad you've realized there is a problem before the meds damage your body.

yep, me too, but I try to change them up all the time. One day T-3, the next Ibuprophen, then out of the blue, muscle relaxant.

I've gone cold turkey a few times and cleaned right out, and then the real migraine comes along for a few days and I"m in HELL and back on the rebounding again

Need a doctor who can help with the migraines.

Is what you take daily an addiction or does what you take daily help keep the migraines under control? Big difference here.

I agree with xoSand, there is a big difference between needing and addiction. If you need it take it and don't worry about the other. Hug
