good luck
sleep -establishing a regular sleep routine has helped me significantly. I need to be in bed by midnight and sleep till 7:30 to 8:00am. if i go to bed too early i am up at 3am for 90 minutes.
pillow - I must have a soft pillow while someone else posted they needed a firm foam one, as you can see, you need to find out what works for you.
caffeine - no caffeine in my diet - NONE
food - watch within two hours of what you eat and see if anything causes a migraine; I have started eating organic foods and make sure I have balanced meals.
sugar - I watch my sugar and focus on protein
animals - I can't touch them
chiropractor helped me too.
I hope you start feeling better REALLY SOON.
Sorry I did not see your reply until today. My headaches are doing a little better. I found out that mine are mostly a result of 2 bulging disks in my neck. My doc gave me narcotics (which I was sad to have to go there), which are helping. He also recommended I go back to my orthopedic surgeon... great guy, but I was really hoping to never have to see him again. Very discouraged today. Facing gall bladder surgery and possible C-spine surgery. Feeling old and broken at 48.
How did the Refafen (?) or Relapen (?) work? Never heard of it.
Hope you are getting some relief.
Pam
I have had migraines for many years, but just recently have been able to get them more under control.
First of all, I also take sumatriptan and it was the first drug to actually help me. The only thing you have to be careful of is that if you take too many too close together (in my case, 3 100mg pills within two days of each other) you can get rebound headaches. That's why its important to recognize the onset of headaches so you can take medication before its really bad.
I also have been isolating different things in my environment to figure out triggers. MSG is a trigger for me, so are bright lights. Beer is another trigger. Something that might help is keeping a journal of things you eat, your sleeping schedule, and how bad your headaches are.
Hope this helps!
