If you have frozen gel packs, or even putting crushed ice into sealed plastic bags, put them behind your neck and lay down. The neurologist told me that my doing that was called the poor man's Occipital Neural Block and many times the cold and the pressure of the ice against the nerves back there may slow down or even stop a migraine.

I also put a frozen gel pack or ice pack over my head too and I make sure my eyes are covered so it is total black out. I can't have anyone cooking. Just do that and RELAX. I so hope this works for you.

P.S. I keep a ton of frozen gel packs of all shapes and sizes in my freezer specifically for migraines through the years.

If the cold doesn't work for you try a heating pad on your upper back and neck. Do the black out thing. I bought a small silky pad that fits across my eyes. I also have a "White Noise" app on my IPad that I turn on to take my mind off of the pain, just listen to the soothing sounds. Get the Fiorcet from your Dr for next time. Also ask for phenagran for the vomitting. It also helps you sleep. I will go to sleep in pain and wake up with no headache, just wiped out from the pain and vomitting. I use heat because my muscles cramp during a migraine. I get massages when things are really bad. They have massaged really bad migraines away. Good luck.

i usualy have to have no noise no light and i take a cold wet cloth and rapit around my head and eys very tight and when it worms up i get it coold off again or i keep one in the frizer and just ezchange it i also will use the crushed ice in plastic bags and jell packs ........one thing that is very important for me i cant lay dowen i must be almost sitting right up so i have a reclining chair i use and just recline a little in that for however long it takes and tale my meds i have to right dowen the time i take aney meds or i will tend to take it to soon as i am still i a lot of pain even with the meds but with out the meds i wouldent beable to handel it ............... my husband and my self bought a bed that you can lift the head of the bed and the botom i keep the head raised a least 8 inches if i dont i will get a migrain .................i hope you felt better and got your erands done today ..................god bless

Thanks for the ice pack suggestion. I have to take the meds and lie down in dark, quiet, cool - even cold room. Wear an eye mask. I'm starting to wonder if being too hot in bed might be a cause ? I hope you managed to get some relief.
