I've recently started imitrex again and found that sometimes it seems to make me feel worse. But other times it works great. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

I've noticed that all triptans seem to aggravate my fibromyalgia symptoms. It's like being slammed with a severe case of flu - body aches, but without the nausea. Imitrex was the least effective on my migraine as well. were

Imitrex also made me very spacy and made my heart beat too rapidly. I've gotten much better headache relief with Maxalt and Amerge.

I've been taking Imitrex, tablet form, for 10+ years but only when I am in horrible pain. I hate to take it because of the side effects which linger well into the next day. For me the side effects are: uncomfortable tingling in my extremities, muscle weakness, fatigue, a hot and tingly sensation at the base of my skull, and trouble thinking (spacey feeling).
Sometimes the trade-off (headache pain for Imitrex side-effects) is worth it to me but only when I'm having 10 out of 10 pain. Thankfully, I am having fewer painful migraines lately, instead having a variant that causes vertigo without pain. A neurologist suggested I try Imitrex to see what effect it has on my vertigo. Dutifully, I did that, last week and I'll never be doing that experiment again! Did nothing helpful for me but confirmed that Imitrex makes me feel horrid for 2 days.

That is news to me, I've been on Imitrex off and on for 28 years and have never had a side effect problem.

I don't have any side effects, and I've used it over 20+ years too. But the other Tristan's work just as well for me.

Once in a while I get a slight pressure feeling in my chest, but it resolves quickly. I've used imitrex pills and injections for about ten years now. I'm so grateful that it works for me.

I didn't know that this medicine was interfering with my birth control. Good thing I am not sexually active for over a year now.

I take Imitrex 50 mg 1 tablet when I feel a migraine and it works really well. Last Saturday I took it early and it took 30 minutes to kill the migraine. If I take it too late it takes a few hours to kill the migraine. Basically it works well for me. I take it with a anti nausea medication because I vomit because of my migraines. It works.
