Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I used to do the pain scale of 1-10 until my neurologist asked me to do 1-3.
1 - being mild, - I needed a pain pill (or not) but could do daily tasks
2 - being medium and it was bothersome and everpressent
3 - being really bad and just a horrible existance
He said it was easier for him to see at a glance how the treatment was progressing and the middle numbers were just grey issues. Just a suggestion.
I have not been too successful in figuring out what triggers my migraines, but I am pretty sure that red dye 40 (a lot, a little doesn't seem to matter), balsamic vinegar and strong perfume-like scents can cause them.
