I have suffered migraines for man yrs now. I have tried Imitrex in the very beginning and it didnt work for me. It actually excellerated them. I am happy that it is helping you. Keep up the good work..

Glad you found something that works! I tried the Imitrex pills and also the shots. I didn't like the way they made me feel afterwards.

Tried both the pills and the shots. Didn't do anything. Maxalt was more my bag of tricks.

I tried the Imitrex shots when they first came out, but after a year, I didn't like the way they made me feel, so I stopped. Tried other things, but nothing until I found Relpax. Works like a charm. Everyone's system is different so what works for one, may not work for another.

I have and it works great. Careful though I have had rebound headaches from taking too many.

Had a heart attack because of triptans

unfortunately the triptans dont work for me. When I took injectible immitrex, it made me feel like my neck and back of head were on fire. Very unpleasant. And the migraines would always come back. I didn't like how I felt on triptans in general....

My uncle swears by imitrex. I use maxalt and it ususally works for me if I can go back to sleep. Although the last time I took it I was unable to wake up after 2 hours and felt wooly headed all day. Didn't make it to work...whoops!

I took Imitrex, starting with the injections in office, for several years and it worked great.
But gradually they had to start increasing the dose, I had to take it more often, and one didn't always work.
Finally they stopped working at all.
I was switched to Maxalt (and Midrin, and Phenergin, and Naproxen, and Hydrocodone) and have relief but nothing like the first years on Imitrex.

I to have tried imetrex, but unfortunately for me it did not help. I had severe side effects from this medicine, i would drool, talk backwords, get dizzy and light headed it made me feel like i was having a seizure. but i am glad it's working for you. i have had friends who said it has helped them.

I am currently taking 50gm of Imitrex and it works almost every time for me. It does make me feel drugged out at times. I end up having to leave work for the day and sleep most of it off. One treatment can work wonders for some and do the opposite on others. My wife has tried most of the available RX's out there and they almost always end up not working after a while.

It made the migraine worse initially, but then it would get better. However, I have Fibro, and it would make me go immediately into a horrific flare each and every time I took it? Made me ill sick shaky, and painful through my entire body...

If I didn't have Fibro I think it would have done great though :).

I did however notice it made my constant visual Auras a lot worse! Even after the meds wore off! So... all I really have to say is... to each their own, LOL.

I LOVE IMITREX. Except for the fact that it was supposed to go generic in the 3rd quarter of last year and the company that makes it filed a lawsuit to stall.

I've used it for many years. The biggest problem has been getting the insurance company to let me have enough of it. But recently it stopped working for me. I think I've just had too much of it.
