Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Second, you need to see a doctor other than your PCP. They don't understand the science and mechanisms behind migraines. Which means you need to find a HEADACHE SPECIALISTS. Notice I DID NOT say a neurologist, although some are good, you need to find someone who is actually a headache specialist. They will prescribe you preventative meds so the headaches don't come on. They will also give you meds for when the headaches break through. But you NEED a plan of action.
If you have any questions along the way, please don't be afraid to ask in this group. We are quite knowledgeable. We can answer any questions you have.
I appreciate your feed back so much.
Also, don't underestimate the power of ice. Sometimes I can be loaded on medicine, and if it's not working, I'll put ice all over my head, and it just numbs the pain.
for your nausea, I'm sorry, I just don't know. I'm on a prescription medicine for that. The only thing I'll try to do is eat something a bit bready. Like a piece of bread, or a few crackers, and just lay down if I can.
I hope you get a little relief. I get them every day.
