Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Had a migraine doctor believed it came from high blood pressure. Turn out he was primarily right. Had some surgery and got rid of the headache. Came back recently. Changed medicine, it's almost completely gone again.

Primary component is blood pressure; It does seem to be influenced by

1. lack of exercise,

2. changes in sleep, (going to bed much earlier is as bad as much later)

3. sugar,

4. stress

5. artificial foods, cured meats,

I keep pretty regular sleep hours. Low sugar intake, low stress, but I can't tolerate MSG in foods and it gives me a MAJOR MIGRAINE. If I go to the supermarket and try to buy the generic no-name brands, I have found it in there, so I have to watch carefully. It may NOT be in the name brand, but be in the generic no name.

My doctors have discovered that when I get a migraine, my blood pressure shoots up, if my back pain is bad then my blood pressure shoots up--otherwise it is normal. So they have me on blood pressure medication just to try to keep my blood pressure at an even level when I am in pain due to migraine or back. Amazing how that works.
