Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
On Thursday night I went to a local urgent care. I had given up on going to ERs. Whatever meds or shots they have me in the past never helped and most if the time, I was made to feel like a drug seeker. I was given a injection of Toradol. The migraine was gone in about 40 min and it stayed away. I told them I would need a steroid pack because if I could get to my neurologist that is what he give me. But he is almost 2 hours away so I thought I would try this new urgent care. The Toradol was wonderful.
I've been about it since then. As with everything else, it helps some people with migraines, not others. There is a tablet version. Some people have the tablet and even the injection version at home for those hard to stop migraines. Anyone else have that?

Maybe on of the reasons I don't have it is because I get the steroid pack. NSAIDS don't tend to work. Even indocin doesn't work. But I'm glad it works for you.
I know the headache specialist that my sister and I go to actually have her a vile of toradol, and needles. I don't think many doctors do that, though.
Whatever form of the medication you get, I hope it works well for you.Good luck!!
I guess if it works for you, use it. For me, it does great for a kidney stone or other pain but not good enough for my migraine pain.
I'm allergic to Toradol, and steroid packs don't work.
I would suggest the shot or IV...works so much faster. If you go to the ER..INSIST on it!! Most ER doctors want to give you opioids (fioricet, morphine, etc..) which just either cause continual rebound headaches or eventually addiction. I unfortunately do still get headaches at least 22 days a month on average but try to switch back and forth between Toradol and Imitrex. I am still searching for better options and am currently on a migraine research study medicine. It has had great results with the majority of patients but not with me. I am starting a double dosage of it though so may work in the end.
