Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I take Imitex too, but try not to to take it that often and definately not nore than two times in one day. Try an ince pack, heating pad, Excedrin Migraine or another Triptan if you can.
I'm struggling w/Migraines myself.
Also, Look at a "Migraine Diet" that really helped me! Some foods were giving me terrible headaches!
Good Luck!

Also, my doctor at the diamond headache clinic has prescribed me dexamethasone for when the headache keeps coming back or won't go away. It breaks up the "cycle" and you avoid overusing triptans. However, it is a steroid and is not recommended for prolonged use. It does seem to work though.
You might ask your doctor about non-triptan abortive medicines for when the imitrex doesn't do it's job. There are several different types- Keterolac, soma (muscle relaxant), etc. Good luck!
Good Luck
