Okay, here's the thing. I wish most neurologists would realize that you start off slow and easy. The first neurologist I had did this and it worked great. I had him for several botox visits, then they moved him to an office very far away and I went to their neurologist that was closer.

That new neurologist at first put more in my forehead (she felt women want more in their forehead for cosmetic reasons too). It actually gave me headaches, not migraines, in the forehead region. I didn't have the effect of facial distortion, but you do.

At the next visit to the neurologist, I explained that she must reduce the number of botox injections in the forehead to bare minimum and I wanted more in the back of the head (the occipital area), plus I get some in the sides of the neck, in addition to the shoulders.

In the occipital area at the back of the head helped so much more than in the forehead.

I have heard others say also that for them, increased amounts in the forehead doesn't help so much with the migraines.

I don't like bosses that yell and there's no need to yell and it's unprofessional. To say anything is tough because apparently your boss also spouts off private info to everyone, which is also wrong. My first instinct would be to say you are having migraines and this is the result and they are treating them, but with your boss's loose lips, I probably wouldn't. Most people without migraines feel that botox for migraines is the same as botox for cosmetic reasons--they don't even begin to realize it is into the scalp and the back of the head, the neck and shoulders too.

If your uncomfortable saying something, I wouldn't. If it happens again, perhaps throw it back on your boss or others, by saying... I'm sorry, did I do something to upset you? If they say your looking at me funny, I might say. Gee I have been having bad headaches perhaps you misinterpreted my facial expression for my headache pain. I know a number of people at work who have tried botox for migraines and some who just use it for cosmetic reasons. I think that people are more excepting of it than they once were. You might be surprised to find others in your office have it done too. Seems thought that if your boss yelled at you, he/she is an over reactive person in general.

I had my first set of Botox shots 12 days ago. So far it made me worse. The neuro said that is because I had a headache when I went in. I am going to give it one more go, then if it doesn't work I may opt out. The study I am in is for 2 years with shots every three months. I have a very expressive face so although my forehead is numb, I can still look surprised or angry. Sounds like you work in a pretty childish place if they would tease you about a medical condition. I don't have facial distortion either. But the lady that does my shots does them on herself as well, that is why I really trust her. I hope you get the courage to tell these people that it is a medical condition, just for your own piece of mind.

So how is it? any improvement or change in your headaches yet?

I have had a couple of days without visual disturbances, except for blurred vision that I have been fighting. I still have a lot of pain especially in my ear, and side of my head. My hands are still burning with the neuropathy and I was really sick to my stomach earlier. I don't know that I have noticed any difference yet and its been 2 weeks. I hope you are having more luck with them than I am.
