Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

How many have terrible eye pain feels like some one poked me in the eye hurts so bad going to eye dr, I go every year ,but wondering is this part of my migraine,messes with my vision, thanks Shirley

I don't get eye pain.

But many people (particularly when I was still working and had a whole bunch of employees coming to me about things and they would say to me that they could tell I had a bad migraine due to my eyes. Nobody ever explained and at the time I would be in too much pain to even care so I always forgot to ask them what my eyes were doing or what my eyes looked like or were they talking about around my eyes (like dark circles).

Depends on what type of eye pain you are talking about. I can have a migraine in my eye, and that is horribly painful but I wouldn't go to the eye doctor for that, because that is migraine pain. Then there are the times when I scratch my eye. Happens about once a month. Hurts so bad I can't open my eye at all, and it's a searing pain. That, I have gone to the eye doctor for.

If this pain is associated with your headaches, and it affects your vision, then it is very smart to see a doctor about it.

Sorry to hear you have eye pressure problems. I disagree with some of the others on here. Always have your yearly eye exams and tell them of your migraine and eyes symptoms. I have migraines that turned into crawling around the bed begging for relief and the ER-- I happen to have a rare head/eye disease that 1 in ten go blind and only by talking did we find out about it. [ Packaged together its called Pseudotumor Cerebri] Tell your GP, Neuro,Eye Dr. So your doing the right thing. I use moisture drops to help ease my eyes too. take care.

I had this and it turned out to be an increase of fluid on my brain. I now take diruetics daily to help it but without the meds and spinal taps I could go blind. Please see eye dr and neuro. It was called Pseudotumor Cerebri and is fine if I take my medication.

lee I did go to the eye doctor and have all the test for glucoma and all that he said my eyes have gotten worse did you go to a regular eye doctor to get that confirmation he said it was just me straining my eyes because I needed new glasses which are on order thank you for all your information,Shirley
