Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
If you are only on topamax, I'm guessing you are not seeing anyone specifically for your migraines. If that's the case, my suggestion is that you see a specialist. Specifically a headache specialist. You can look it up on the computer for your area to try and find one. There are many drugs out there that can be used as preventatives, and there are rescue meds that won't make you loopy or tired.
In the meantime, there are natural things you can try. I know many of the people in this group use natural supplements like magnesium, CoQ10, and B2. Also Butterbur. None of them helped me, so I don't remember the dosages, but they do help others in this group, so I'm sure others will chime in here.
I do hope you find some relief
I seriously hope that they never get worse.
