Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

I really dont think I have the typical migrane symptoms...However, that's what my doctor has diagnosed me with. I have shooting pains in my head, my vision is blurry, numbness and tinkeling in my arms, my neck is so stiff sometimes that I cant move my head, dizziness........no nausea, no aura, no one sided headache.....does anyone else have similar symptoms? Just want to be sure we are treating the right problem......Thanks

These don't all happen all the time...

I get the numbness one on side of my body, loss of fine motor skills in the same side, dizziness, nausea, aura ranging from blurry vision, sparkling patterns to loss of vision, unilateral headache, confusion, speech impairment.

(Photophobia, phonophobia, duh.)

With mine, it is almost always on the left side of my head. Starts out at the back of the left and then, like something that is alive, it grows! It takes over the entire left side of my body. I have weakness (sometimes outright paralysis) in my left arm and leg, blurred vision, what I like to call rainbow colored bugs in my line of sight, dizziness, slurred speech, oh yeah and horrible damn pain in my head. :) You have to laugh about it. The alternative isn't any better. My neuro said that all the "extras" that go along w/ my migraines were "neurological symptoms." That they wouldn't cause any damage (unless I were driving and went into one of these fits!), but that was after a CAT scan and 2 MRI's. So you should probably go to a neuro to have a few tests run to be on the safe side. Hope this helps.

With mine, I have intense pressure in the back of my head that shoots down to my neck. My eyes hurt and I lose fine motor skills. Also, I have intense photophobia and phonophobia, and sometimes dizziness and nausea.

I don't feel a whole lot of numbness with mine. Mine's always on the left side temple and if feels like a hammer just exploding a giant nail in with each heartbeat. I can feel my heartbeat at different areas of my body too. Knees, arms, fingers, weird I know. I get nauseous and light kills my eyes and I get very pale and weak like I can't stand up. Like I wanna die the pain's so bad. I also have to pee all the time......lol!

mine are like taking a hammer to your thumb and move to other fingers changing patterns on various hands. do that for a while and you will understand mine. i do get some visual disturbances. possible nerve damage. my right side of face is partially numb, but that is more likely from my concussion that started my daily headaches/migraines.

i get intense pain , vomit, cant see correctly , im not very coherint at the time i end up in my room in the dark crying my eyes out becuze the pain is so intense.very very very bad pain.
