Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
My doctor is really good, and he's great at letting me try just about anything and everything there is out there for migraines. (I get them everyday). So I was a little bummed he wouldn't give me the script, but I know if he didn't, there had to be a good reason. I think he really was trying to save me some more physical pain.
Botox is great if you can afford it. I was getting daily migraines and botox stopped it. Have you tried botox? Also there is a steroid they use sometimes for a severe migraine- begins with a d. It works bit I take a lot of steroids for asthma, so I avoid taking extras. Those are two things you might try.
The steroid you are talking about is dexamethasone. You can only take a maximum of 24 pills per year of that particular one. It's only meant as a rescue med, used to break up a migraine when all else doesn't work. If you are going to go on long time steroid therapy for migraines, you will need to be followed by an endocrinologist. If you do go on long term steroid therapy for migraines, dexamethasone is not the steroid they would give you.
I have tried the Celafy... It worked wonderfully to begin with but unfortunately I had to stop using it because it made my nerves more sensitive. It did interrupt the pain signals and prevented a few attacks. I was so upset when I became used to the electrical signals. I really felt pleased that I had found something to help me. Disappointed, I search for others who found that Celafy made their condition worse. There was a report I found that suggested not using Celafy for chronic severe migraines only episodic.
Tread carefully with Celafy. I loved this product but then wished I hadn't used it so much. In the instructions 'they' said that it can be used as much as you need it... or to use it for 10 minutes a day. Contact Celafy with this account if you are concerned, keeping in mind that everyone is different and I'm sure Celafy helps loads of people. Unfortunately for me it has left my facial nerves constantly activated and sensitive since overusing it. This product has had not trails. I can not use it anylong. Be careful.
