Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Anyone else?

Does anyone else get really exhausted after a migraine? I had a migraine aura last night, and i am exhausted right now and feel kind of out of it, is this normal to happen after a migraine? I also have a dull headache too.

Oh yes, exhaustion is all part of the package! Many of us call it the Migraine Hangover! Officially it is called the Postdrome phase of the whole migraine. I sometimes even get exhaused before the migraine headache starts as sort of a warning sign that I had better rest now, or I will be forced to rest later AND have a migraine!

PS. Also drink lots of fluids and eat a good meal. I found that helps too. In fact, I found through trial and error that what I need is a good meal of red meat (sorry to the vegetarians!) A nice burger or pulled pork sandwich from Bandanas (no sauce because of the MSG) and I am feeling much better! See if you can find what works for you.

Just wanted to concur....... Exhaustion is part of the Migraine Hangover, and yes, it does SUCK!

If only it was "just a head-ache", like some people believe.
