Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

The possibilities are immense. Barometrics, allergy, stress, hormonal, blood pressure, .. goes on and on. That it is primarily only on Sunday morning IS "interesting" though, to say the least. Being it is on that schedule, it is NOT likely anything I mentioned. Odd, indeed. If environmental, it is SOMETHING different on Sundays (or Sat) than from anytime else.
I think when/if it reaches a point of enough concern, you need to consult a doctor.
"it is a real painful pain in the you know what" ..... I am assuming that would be head, .. HA!!
changes in sleep patterns, do you drink wine on weekends? Wine can aggrevate headaches. I'm a MTBI with daily headaches that also develop into migraines.
Do you live near ocean?
blessings and prayers said.
I have TMD as well, When it first started years ago the headaches were most on the weekends because that is when I would clench my jaw the most from stress during the week.
Clusters can also be triggered in your sleep, but they tend to last in longer periods not just the weekend. Is your jaw ever sore when you wake up with the headache?
Or any teeth sore?
One more thing to ponder. :)
I hope you find the cause.
Headaches are tricky.
They use to tell me mine were all in my head.LOLLLL and Yup they were right intelegent doctors LOL Duhhhh
sounds silly but hey...it works. He sold me a pillow that wasn't very expensive made by pillo-pedic. Is one of those contured pillows. Strange looking and hard to get used to at first but really did the trick. He said it was made for head and neck trauma victims and keeps you more still in the neck area at night.
Like I said...is a bit hard to get used to at first but really helps after you get used to it.
Here is site I found it on today.

I still do wake stiff and my headache is still there some days but this has really helped me.
Wish you the best. -opy
It took us about a year to figure out that the headaches that would wake him up at night periodically were cluster headaches.
I've often woken up weekend mornings with a "half a headache" as I like to call them. Sometimes some tylenol and coffee will take care of them and I'm fine. Other times they can develop into full blown migraines.
Things that I've noticed that seem to trigger them are also things that will trigger regular migraines in me so I have to be careful.
Change of sleep pattern - this is especially pronounced on the weekends when I'll stay up later at night or allow myself to sleep in longer in the mornings. I end up paying for it.
Eating food out the night before with lots of MSG in it. Really gotta watch those prepared foods!
Weather - barometric pressure drops when fronts move in will do it every time. This time of year is killer for me. Rain/snow showers with cold are awful (I'm on the east coast of the US)
My bedroom being cold. Strange, but it seems if my bedroom is too cold and my nose/sinuses get too cold, it will trigger a migraine like the weather/barometric pressure changes do. I have an older house so it's drafty. I now have a space heater in my bedroom - it helps.
You might want to try to look for triggers. May take some time, but any kind of relief is nice. Good luck!
I have migraines triggered by foods, barametric pressure, stress, sleep apnea, and TMJ.
I am taking Promethazine with Tramadol. It is something I can take on a schedule for two days then it is off to the Dr. office of ER.
REgimine of Promethazine one 25mg (for nausea) at onset of migraine) two 25mg Tramadol (at oneset) if it is not gone after that I can take 2 more tramadols an hour apart for the first day and repeat the second day, then like I said it is off to the Dr. office or ER. But I also watch what I eat and use a c-pap machine for migraines and the special pillow mentioned in one of the other posts.
Migraines have been part of my life since I was a child. I am not sure why I got them then could have been a number of things, I suppose.
Good luck and I hope something I have said helps in someway.
My prayers are with you.
