Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Now, I can't be sure, but it may have to do with some of the meds and whether you get overheated.
Sometimes they just happen but usually it isnt warm weather for me. Sometimes looking back there is a possible explanation but sometimes not. From your description though your body was "challenged" by the help you were giving your mother. You had already had a slight headache..
When I used to get worse migraines than I have been getting the past year to eighteen months I could usually tell in the morning it might happen and I tried to structure my day so that I could drop out and lie down if necessary.
If it is hot outside and you have cool air conditioning going from the hot to cold suddenly can be at the very least headache inducing. And the light changes too from inside to out on hot days - light is a trigger for me.
Just thoughts. I am glad you felt better within an hour or so. Sometimes these things can last a couple of days.
Another thing that I've realized is that when my feet or head feel really hot I have to put them on ice to avoid a migraine. When I get hot and flush the first thing that I do is bust out an ice packs from the freezer. I put one on the top of my head and the other on my feet to cool them down. Sometimes it works and sometimes I've waited to long for it to work. Catching it earlier is so much better. Good luck and I hope you find some valuable information from the responses here.
Aloha,
Angie
