This is so embarrassing that I cried.

Okay I have had a little bit of urine leakage when I really needed to pee in the past few years, but today I didn't make it to the bathroom. I was at work (thankfully the end of my work day) and the bathroom is a bit away from my classroom. I was hurrying down the hallway and I just couldn't stop the flow. It was just happening. Since then my stomach has been really sore. I don't know if that is a psychological part or not.

I have had some back and hip pain and have had a ton of MRIs in the past year, but there is no nerve damage that they can see, so I don't think it is related to that. Is this a menopause symptom? I have been in menopause for about 5 years, and have not had a period for 5 years. I tried HRT earlier in the year but couldn't take it because it made my periods come back heavily.

Is this my future??? I don't think I can handle diapers at 50!! Please advise! Thanks

The same thing happens to me. I am 56. I haven't totally peed my pants yet but I have to grab it and run sometimes. When I get to the bathroom it is a race against time to get the pants pulled down. I am 4 years post now so I can't say for sure if it is old age or Meno related. I have learned to go before I think I might have to. I was running in to the problem of not having to go & then BAM I had to run for it. I don't work so I am not usually in a place that I run into embarrassment. I know that must suck for you but try the routine potty stops even when you don't think you have to go. Take Care, Deny

My problem is that I am a teacher and cannot leave my classroom, so over the years I have trained my bladder pretty well to go before school starts, and then three hours later I have my planning period, so I can go then, and then lunch, and then after school. Today it just didn't work for me :( People who have jobs where they can go to the bathroom anytime they want don't know how good they have it! lol

I don't know when, a few years I suppose, but I had to start wearing Poise (or similar) pads. Doesn't happen every day, but enough to know if I have a coughing, sneezing, laughing fit, I better have some protection on.

I"m sorry for your bad experience. However, I'll help you feel better. About two years ago I had fibroids. I bleed so bad that I would have to wear the overnight pads during the day. One day I had an appointment with the eye doctor. As I stood there I just felt when a gush came down. As I looked down (I had on a skirt). the floor had blood on it. Thankfully nobody was in the waiting room. The ladies at the desk did not even notice because it was a high desk. Don't ask me how I did it but I was able to go to the bathroom clean myself up and come back and clean the floor without anyone noticing. Perimenopause is a learning part of life...It makes us stronger than we think we are...but it is also a trying time.

Has anyone had any luck with Kegals? I've been having the problem of not getting my pants down soon enough. Thankfully it is just a little dampness that I can cover with a liner if I'm out, but it is upsetting.
Also sneezing or really bad cough.
I'm 45 and at just one year w/o a period.

Have you brought this up with your gyno? Maybe there is something that csn be done. I just started menopause this year and also have urinary urgency. The strange thing is, i hadn't quite admitted to myself itc was becoming more frequent and rust I've been having regular drubbles in my way to the toilet. Maybe a drop or 2. Then i had my regular gyni check up. He was a new dr and i had to fill out a bunch of papers. One was about urinary leakage and urgency. Its a regular thing but maybe just for those over 40.

As i filled it out i answered yes to so many questions. He wants todo a urinary dynamics test on me.

Iam wearing panty liners fir this but maybe a poise pad would keep you secure incase it happens again. Meanwhile get further medical attention.
