Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I'm thinking as I read about your having taken Cymbalta that I got only two years' relief from the Luvox (and I was told that most people get only one year, and then it stops working) -so maybe you have built up a tolerance to Cymbalta, and you might want to consider switching to a new medication. I started on Klonopin after the Luvox, and got 15 years of relief from panic while on this drug, but now it is finally wearing-off. (i have a panic attack disorder, which i believe is worsening because of menopause.)
Your symptoms aound awful, but I think there is hope for you, since you very well may find relief using another medication. I am weaning off Klonopin and plan to talk to my doctor about trying a new medication - Maybe Zoloft, which I have heard good things about, especially for people with anxiety and panic.
