Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
My sister had very heavy periods during perimenopause. Sometimes it was like she was hemmoraging. She would bleed for weeks. Then it would stop for a few days and then it would start up again. She had to use 2 super tampons & a heavy duty pad, all at the same time!!! Crazy!!!!
The biopsy will give you peace of mind. If it comes back clean then it is just perimenopause. If it comes back that something else is going on, you have caught it & can start treatment.
BTW, I haven't been to the gyno in years either.
I need to go.
Take care.
I just had the biopsy done a few days ago
Went to gyno last week and mentioned heavier period (48) and doc did biopsy that day and am scheduled for ultrasound
