Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

Keep getting things checked and don't give up. The fatigue could be related to anemia, too. I knew for years that I was anemic from heavy periods, but the family doctor or the gynecologist never put me on iron supplements. It was the dermatologist who finally prescribed those, because of my hair loss (which was not thyroid related like I thought). Hang in there! Let us know how the acupuncture works out. I have always been interested in that but never tried it.
