Yesterday was a horrible day started out with going to my son's online school and ended up in the wrong room and then when someone asked me what the teachers name was I went blank. Today was not much better could not remember the name of tissue paper you know the kind you put in the gift boxes.

I went to the store to purchase my items and almost went into a full panic when I could not find my walled I went to through my whole purse frantically only to look up and see my wallet sitting at the counter. What freaking mess this crap is.

I'm having trouble breathing today as well due to my acid reflux being so bad I took a prilosec but not helping yet. My ear is ringing so loud can't focus sometimes. My only thought today has been is this sh-t every gonna get better.

I'm glad I stopped and picked up my Xanax that I'm taking due to my anxiety I have due to this menopause though I'm not sure if it's meno or just plain old stress and anxiety I some how just can't believe menopause can be this bad!

My God, Vicki! you sound just like me. Anxiety and all. I take Klonopin. I feel like I could just kill everything in my path.

I also have tinnitus. It drives me insane! I went to the ENT and he told me to take Xanax which I did for one month but it didn't work!!! I did learn from him that tinnitus is due to anxiety and when we get stressed, it gets louder. So try to stay calm!!!

Thanks so much saltycandy, It seems a lot of women on here have tinnitus since beginning menopause(wow) I have also heard about stress being a big factor in tinnitus. It's just so hard to believe sometimes, I think maybe due to know one telling us this is a possibility, you know it being so bad. I do try to stay calm but it's so hard sometimes. I know you've been through a lot and I appreciate your input!

Perimenopause is the time before menopause when you still have periods. Menopause is when you have gone one year without a period. The symptoms can be horrific. Here is a website that you can check out some of the symptoms. Everyone is different as to what they experience and for how long. All I know is that menopause changes you.

I wonder if the Prilosec is adding to the misery.

I know that the proton pump inhibitors can have some side effects for many people of anxiety/brain fog/drowsiness/dizziness/nausea. Which is pretty much what menopause is like, anyway.

If you go to askapatient or sites like that you can read about people's experiences with prilosec or any drug. But remember that it seems that most people only post when they are having a negative reaction to a drug.

I cannot tolerate any of the ppis I have tried (aciphex, protonix, prevacid, prilosec). They all cause really bad side effects for me.
