Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
it is a pretty clear deadline and a reminder our time is finite.
It is a lot to face and process isn't it.
Yep! all of that and more for me! and the mortality is dreadful but think of it often! lots of quilt in my life too. For not doing enough or maybe going over board on stuff. i,e, self medication.
It's a horrible time of life! and I agree nobody told me it could be this bad! crap I will make sure if I have a girl in my life, don't had girls, all boys. I will let them know of this period in their lives. My son's girlfriend is at my house often and she sees what I've been through. Her mom did not have an easy time either. But I think I might be worse for me. Her words not mine. lol
I just hope you have someone to talk to because that will help a lot if you have someone to relate too.
God bless and take care
Vicki.
If you would like to talk pm me.
Hugs
I started peri 9 years ago and at the same time my girls were just entering puberty, so our house was raging for many years....also, many tears, enough tears to fill an ocean...and many evictions. My daughters are out of puberty now and my oldest has PMDD. Things are better now, but sometimes the rage just erupts....not as often as before, thank God, but still there. Sometimes I think that after all the years I have been experiencing this hell, that I would know the warning signs and be able to control the swings.
My daughters know what to expect when they enter this point in their lives., but knowing what to expect and actually experiencing it are two totally different things.
When I was entering peri, ten years ago, I met the man who would become my girls' step father. Someone said to him at the time, "She is entering menopause and the girls are entering puberty...Have you thought this through?"...wise words, he really should have run at the time lol...but he was there through all of it and even though him and I are no longer together as a couple, he is family now and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for staying and being there for us through it all.
I am now entering a new relationship; I am grateful that he has entered my life at this point, rather than when I was in the throws of it, otherwise, it would not have worked.
All we can do is manage the symptoms the best way we know how, whether it is through mediation (nature is my church) or being in the water (the salt water is so very healing for me, not only for my body, but for my soul). In the wintertime I relax by having a nice hot candle light bath with sea salts and epson salts....and lots of B vitamins, they are a life saver with me. I take 5 or 6 at a time, B6 and B12...when PMSing....and I really notice the symptoms more, the rage comes out if I run out of them...so yes, we do whatever we can until we are through it...as my mother used to say, "This too, will end".
They should add a Menopause segment to their health classes in school and the boys should be required to attend. That would be a very easy thing for the schools to do.
I didn't figure out what was wrong with me until I found this sight. Isn't that crazy? I had been to umpteen Dr. They just kept treating this with Anti-depressants. They didn't work.
I will forever educate anyone male/female that is willing to listen. I get the urge to talk about it in the grocery store line. I haven't .
You Take Care!

When I asked my mother she didn't know what I was talking about. I seen a few friends go through, but never really understood, until I started researching and having lab tests and meds prescribed by my doctor.
