Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
Everyone is different......you have to research and make your own decision.
Good luck

NANABC, WHAT DO YOU MEAN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE??? THIS SOUNDS TERRIBLE.
OK LADIES, I AM GOING TO THINK LONG AND HAARD ON THIS ONE. BC AND ME MAY NOT MIX,LOL!!!
I AM STILL OPEN FOR MORE REPLIES, THANKS:)
The way I see it is that bc pills did help, until you got off of them. Thats when your anxiety started, along with all the other things going on in your life. Others are saying that the bc caused anxiety. I have had a funky heart beat since my mid twenties, and found out that I have a mitral valve prolaps, which at times drives me up the wall. Like I said, I dont need anymore anxiety feelings:)
The worst part of peri for me was the severe mood swings, which have subsided. But now the irregular cycles and the hot flashes, especially at night are driving me up the wall. I take plenty of vitamins, drink lots of water, and try to get enough exersice. But some days I just feel like yuk!!!!
I am sure I will get this figured out one way or another. Thanks again for your replies:)
A friend (60) told me that when she went off BC, she had to get on hormone replacements. She said I might have the same condition. I don't know - will ask my GYN when I see her next month.
Right now BC is a big help.
Good luck
