Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I've been in a loving relationship for over 10 years and I know I have a good man, but I think I want to break it off because I'm just not interested and would rather be alone. I'm thinking it's due to menopause because I didn't use to feel like this. Thank goodness we don't live together. I try to fake like I'm happy when he's around, but I just don't feel like myself anymore. The crazy t thing is, if I break up with him I may regret the decision later. I don't want to take hormones to feel better because I'm managing through the hot flashes and vaginal dryness. I just feel miserable and never thought I would feel so confused and unhappy at 52 years old. I feel so alone because I never hear other women saying they feel depressed, confused, anger or just plain unhappy.

OH boy can I so relate. I am depressed, angry, anxiety ridden. My marriage is not well at all. We now live seperately. my husband also did something he should never have and I am trying to move passed it so we can go on in our relationship. I just seem to still be so angry and really do not understand this menopause thing all together.

I started taking magnesium capsules this week/Tuesday and my mood is so much better. I actually start looking forward to spending time with my honey and i know he can see and feel a difference in my attitude. I actually feel good right not even though I still have hot flashes and night sweats. Mentally i feel good!!!

I am right there with you.I have been married for 33 years and for the last year I am not interested in anything.I don't a kiss or a hug or hold hands, not anything just want to be left alone...So not interested in anything physical...My hubby is all kinds of confused, but not half as confused as I am....Then I go through times where I want him to be around...Luckily he is on this ride with me and he just goes with the flow and takes the good days when I have them...This is just crazy stuff and I am glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way....

This is a critical moment. I wished it was only a moment because it is disgustingly longer than a moment but the way menopause effects our most intimate relationships is critical. Our marriage suffered all through pre-menopausal and menopausal anger, anxiety, disinterest in sex. It is only because we have mutual respect, a strong friendship, and a very creative and understanding sex partner. I am not saying that there weren't some very tough moments. There were. Thanks grace and keeping believing in God and feeling confident to come back to the Lord and ask for forgiveness each and every time I sinned.
