Yes, I think you may be on to something, as I also immediately thought "disassociation" when I heard her symptoms...but I was not sure if this syndrome occurs during menopause or not...but as you say, since it is a symptom of anxiety or depression, and there can be so much anxiety or depression during menopause, she may be in a state of disassociation - this may be how her anxiety or depression manifests...
Yes, your response was very helpful, and I will suggest to my friend that she speak to a mental health professional as well as investigate the physical aspects of her situation...
