Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I am 42. I have no major health issues but last week I began to feel these internal tremors. You can't see with with the visible eye but it's happening non stop. I feel exhausted because it disturbs my sleep. My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's in her 40's so I am absolutely terrified. I don't have any other symptoms other than extreme fatigue and low energy. My vision seems a bit off but nothing major. I feel very weak. I am uninsured so I have no had any labs. Could this related to periomenopause? I do have anxiety but It's generally controlled through yoga and nutrition. I work hard at remaining stress free. I do feel a bit dizzy today. My kids need me. This is so frightening. I don't take any pharmaceuticals. I just refuse to. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what has helped you?

I believe this HORRIFIC vibrating is related to Meno. I find it difficult to believe that mine SLAMMED me 3 months before my 50th B'day and now 2 months before my 57th B'day I am feeling relief most of the time. I still feel it but not like I did a couple of years ago. Many days I go without feeling it at all. The medication that helped me the most...Gabapentin and for those who have Dr.'s OK with Benzo's...they helped as well. Take the time to read the post Peri & Internal Tremors. You will gain much insight!! Take Care!!! Deny

I take gabapentin for nerve pain and restless leg syndrome. I Started getting pain in my legs a few years ago when I was around the same age as you. I got tingling sensations shooting up my legs if a drop of ice cold water would drop on my foot or I would have to keep moving my legs or get up and walk around. Not sure if restless leg syndrome is part of peri menopause or not but it won't hurt to ask your doctor about it. Hope it works out for you.

Thank you ladies for sharing your insight! I initially saw that post regarding internal tremors which is what brought me here. It's exactly what I seem to be experiencing. I hope it doesn't get worse!

I was lurking when I saw this=I have this too,,it has gotten MUCH better....I believe it is menopause anxiety related. I got this really badly a few yrs ago after an endocrine surgery sent my hormones reeling--I think I went into some crash or something and the anxiety that I've had all my life got magnified like crazy---I spent entire days with that internal tremoring---I would wake up during the night with it--it was kind of like a train was going through my bedroom----but as I got my anxiety under control it went away and slowed down...now I only get it upon wakening in the am sometimes and it only lasts a few seconds----I think it is bad adrenals not doing their job right----like it is an adrenaline rush gone haywire--kind of stuck in the "go" position. I've done meditation, yoga, deep breathing, accupuncture and supplements to help my adrenals....hope something works for you!
