Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
Labs are the blood work that drs order to check cholesterol levels, blood count, etc.
In this case it would be hormone levels.
Speaking form a 60 yr old post menopausal experience, a woman's menopausal symptoms are very individualized...and can occur both pre, during, and post the cessation of menstruation. The lab work must be referring to your hormonal levels detected at that time. I personally had very little uncomfortable symptoms but have siblings and cousins in the same age bracket that have had more, like you describe with the anxiety and sleep deprivation etc. There are several naturopathic remedies and aid for the menopause that are very affective..teas, supplements...think natural, not medication! Mostly I'd like to say...you are having normal experiences.
Take care of you!
I read your post. Labs aren't everything. Listen to your body. It's telling you that you are passing from fertility into you senior years. There is no easy way to do this. Everyone is differnet and the symptoms can be mild or severe. I read mild cases like night sweats and hot flashes to schizophrenia and suicidal tendencies. You will need to meet the needs of your body and keep your mind busy and connected with people. If you are a religious person I suggest getting more involved. If not, try a nonprofit or charitable organization. Keep smiling and take time to get away when you've had enough. Treat it like a temporary medical condition and adjust to yoru body's needs. take vitamins if you need them, take herbs like black cohosh or ashwaghanda and use a phytoestrogen cream or progesterone cream. You can get them online. I hope all goes well and you find the answers you need. YOu might ask your doctor to do some other tests, like hair samples and other samples. The blood is the main go-to for answers; however, it does not always show everything at the upper levels. The lab may have to go deep.
