Hi Sandi. I am troubled with this from time to time but not nearly as severe as you describe. However, when I do get it I find ginger tea helps a lot. Just cut off a piece of ginger, peel it, pour boiling water over it and let it steep for a few minutes..It REALLY helps. I have also heard good reviews of aloe vera juice/gel that you can buy at the health food store. Very soothing and healing. Good luck with this. Jane

I have tried several different things to help with chronic indigestion. I tried peppermint tea, but it upset my stomach, so I tried Ginger, and Yes that worked, but only sometimes, in the end I had to purchase Gaviscon, it is the only thing that works for me.

Welcome to the club. I have a history of acid reflux which now has gotten much worse since the peri-menopause hit. I did look on line and sure enough hormonal changes can cause acid reflux and if you have pre-existing conditions going through the changes can make it worse. For the past 3 months now I have chest pain, discomfort in throat and my breathing if off. I m on Nexium and really have been watching my diet. I am probably going to see my GI doctor and see what else I can do. I also am going to try some probiotics. I hope you feel better. This is just anything to add to this great time in our lives. I get heartburn but also have very little appetite and I have found the only way I manage is to only eat very small meals and it has to be easily digestible fairly bland food, soup, baked fish, porridge etc anything else makes me feel so uncomfortable it makes me miserable!

Sounds like you have GERD aka acid reflux or could be bile reflux. Google it and read read read. Have to make sure you watch what you consume Drink water only for now, no caffiene or decaf. There is a long list,

I would suggest you see a gastrologist and let her do an endoscopy. Constant heartburn can cause Barretts esophagus that can turn into cancer.

I take aciphex everyday. plus I watch everything I consume and drink. NO acids at all. WHen it flares up I take pepcid or gaviscon those are the only things that will help break through acid,.

Try those and read about GERD. Then see a gastrologist so you can stop the damage to your esophagus.

well, I had it so bad and pain with it but since i sut way back on caffine, chocolate and spagetti sauce I don't even need the nexium. I also wear looser fitting clothing and it has really made a difference. Like I said I even stopped my Nexium and I was taking it twice a day. Go on Google and read about Gerd and give their advice a try, it did work for me, thank goodness. and by the way peppermint will make it worse.
