Feel like my life is over

I went back on BC pill and it helped all symptons. except the brning itch skin, from head to toes. It has dramaticly changes my life. Cant go any where or make plans in advance. Been Living at DR. office. tried 4 or 6 different creams, Atarax and amitriplyne. Just started Gabapentin. I need rielf. Anyone have any luck with this Have appts. with Derm an Neurolisist next month. Been told to go to emer. at hospital if it gets bad. I just lay on the couch with icepacks all day. THIS IS NOT LIVING. Im 53 and the last 3 months have been Hell.

I am not real sure if I have the exact problem, or extent of itchiness that you describe, but I do suffer from itchy skin also. I have been having the same itchy areas for about 4 yrs now. I use to have a real problem with my wrists, lower back, and the top of my feet, and stomach. That all went away, but now I only have problems on my forarms, and the back of the top part of my legs. The itch is in the same spots everytime.

I went to a derm, and he said I had exzeama. He perscribed a tropical cream called APEXICON E CREAM. I have to say this has been a real life saver. It keeps the itching at bay, which is a real relief. I put it on twice a day, am and pm. I make sure if I go on a trip I have it wth me.

So life isn't over, you just have to find a med that helps, and you will. Good luck, and really, dont try and be so hard on yourself. You will get the answers you need. Stay strong and god bless!!

LOL,LOL!!!! I said a tropical cream. Its a topical cream. Wanted to make sure that you didn't think that it was some exotic med, LOL, LOL!!! GOOD LUCK:)

I've tried every cream you can think of. Its now to the point that I cant leave home. I have to sit with ice packs on my back and legs. Its not only itchy, but burning. Im seeing family Dr. tomorrow. I Think its MS.

My daughter was dx with MS in 2006, at the age of 28. I dont ever recall her complaining of itchy skin. I do know she has burning sensations, and pins and needle feelings at times. She also suffers alot from fatigue. An MRI will detect if you have had asterbations (sp) or not. I hope it is just itchy skin and not MS. Please keep me posted on how everything turns out. I'll be thinking of you:)

Hiya. I have suffered from dry itchy skin and my Doctor gave me a cream called "Aqueous ceam ". It can also be used as a soap substitute as using perfumed soaps can aggravate itchy skin. Hope you can find something to help. It must be really awful for you.

At first it was just itchy skin and Dr. thought it was caused by menopause. Over the last few weeks it started to burn and go numb. Its on my scalp to my toes. The only thing that helps is putting ice packs on. Family Dr. is getting me in to see a neuroligist and Im aoing to a new Derm. doc today, because there are rashes on body.

I have some patches but still have oily skin at my age. I am being sincere when I ask if you have tried aloe vera gel. There are some with menthol that have helped me. My basic complaints are the mood swings, lack of sleep. I wish you the best, you must be so very uncomfortable.
