Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I haven't had many but the months when I skip a period or two are
the best for me I guess because the fluctuating hormones aren't
there or not as bad. Some months for me are also nothing but
symptoms and they always mimic something seriously wrong
when there's not. I have been to the doctor, hospital, specialists
etc. more times than I'd like to count. Pretty much every time
turned out to be "nothing wrong". I'm glad they can't find anything
wrong but at the same time I can't believe for as bad as I feel at
times that "nothing is wrong". lol
I'm 3.5 years into this (symptomatic anyway) and some of it
has gotten better for me like how to handle some of it. You get
used to it and when things happen you know they'll pass. My
problem is, just about every month it's something new so I don't
know whether to poo poo it or not. I guess we just have to do
what we feel is right at that moment and know that hopefully
soon it will be over. At least the worst of it.
Hang in there.
Take Care, Donna
