Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
some anxiety meds are useful too. And being little ' pre menopause crazy; can be good, it has a power of it s own to get things done. My goal was to get though it with grace... hahahah, now i just buy more irises and paint this next stage of life. best wishes.
Now I have been going through menopause for about 5 years now, I went rignt into menopause after my hysterectomy so I didn't have time to think about anything. At first I just tried to deal with the anxious days, and yes it was hard. But now I have to take medication also on my rough days. I take Xanax 2mg., and yes it does help me out a lot. But you want to remember that if you have never taken anything like valium before it may make you a bit sleepy until you get used to them. But 5 mg. is a large dosage, so you should be fine, but just stay home at first when you take them because even 5mg. could make you sleepy. Good luck. (dede)
