Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
Hotmom, you give good advice, worth trying out. But unfortunately I've developed a craving for sweet stuff lately! Just like a child!
Growing older is not an easy challenge.
with regards to digestive problems, have you considered fasting? Intermittent fasting can really help by allowing the stomach to truly empty before the next intake of food. Try allowing 4-5 hours between meals.
I don't eat breakfast, it means from dinner the night before, I then wait until lunch next day. I drink plenty of water or decaff tea in the meantime. My digestive problems have gone completely. The stomach needs time to detox and re-balance, digestion takes a lot of energy and time. So a rest is beneficial. I hope that helps.
I've never had reflux or much indigestion but get a good bit of it now. Not always but if I eat too much at one time I do.
The only back pain I have is to the right of my left shoulder blade. It feels like someone is stabbing me with a hot poker. lol I've gotten used to that one but sometimes it makes it hard for me to sleep.
Anxiety is through the roof a lot of the times like Mybabies04. I often find myself saying, " I don't know how much more I can take of this". And I don't ,but I hang in there. Funny thing is I used to be such a carefree, not worry about anything type person and now every little thing that happens, health wise, to me freaks me out.
I've become a bit too paranoid for my liking. I'm guessing this will all pass because on my good days I do feel like my own self but unfortunately those days are few and far between.
I'm not on any meds so I can't help you there with any suggestions.
As you move along you'll figure out one way or another what works for you. I'm sure others will be of better help but know that you are in no way alone. None of your symptoms sound unreasonable for what your going through. Hang in there.
Take Care, Donna
It was to the point that the doc prescribed meds (tecta) and I took that for about a year but don't want to stay on that indefinitely and without it the symptoms were back within a day. So I started researching what else I could, something more natural.
I found what works for me:
Ocean's Alive- Marine Phytoplankton which I purchase from the Upaya Naturals website. I take 4 drops a day.
The other thing I take is one pill of Astaxanthin a day. I purchase the Astaxanthin from Dr. Mercola's website.
Once I started taking this combination, about 3 days later I noticed my acid reflux became manageable. As in I only have to take a tums at night now when I go to bed and that's it!
Both supplements are not the cheapest however they last a very long time. And better than prescription meds!
