Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

Hi everyone,
I have been away for awhile. Still in the perimenopause stage, so my GYN says. How is everyone dealing with the extreme exhaustion. It seems to get worse before I get my period (which are still erratic). Two months ago I had my period for 21 days. Is there anything that has helped any of you with this difficult and frustrating problem. There are times I could just fall asleep on my desk, but I don't think my boss would appreciate it. I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you all.

Have you thought about talking to your gyno about hormones or Birth Control Pill?

I am gonna ask my doc about Birth Control. I also have had depression and up and down moods and feeling tired a lot. This stuff has to be going along with it. This really is awful. Feeling so out of control.

I am turning 51 in February and hoping menopause comes soon. I know have spotting but my period is so erratic that I never know how it will be. I just picked up Evening Primrose Oil because I've read a bit about it and a friend said it helped her sleep more soundly, which I could use right now. I just keep praying that this will all get better soon and I will keep all you ladies in my prayers. Remember what they say - what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

I used bayberry tablets from GNC. Mine were so light, it was a breeze. But the timing was still off a bit. Just used a liner most days. Then I found out about fibroids and cysts. Hysterectomy took care of irregular periods! Now I still have hot flashes. First dr gave me lorazapam for moods and hot flashes(worked great) then Estrogen patches bioidentical ones work miracles. Then I got off all now. Had to reconquer the mood swings and still having hot flashes. I don't think it ever really ends---been going thru this since 1999!!!

OMG Mary sounds awful, I guess hormones can cause us to crash and burn. Even after you had a Hyster. you still have symptoms?
